| Details At Nyiregyhaza,Hungary Report Arthur Thomson won Gold at the European Masters Championships held in Hungary. He completed the M70 5km Walk in 28m 40.47s to get the small club contingent off to a grand start on the second of the 10 days of competition. John Browne followed up on Saturday with further success when he grabbed the Bronze medal in the M55 100m having qualified for the finals the previous day. His time was an excellent 12.27s in the Final. Arthur made it a second Gold Medal on Sunday when he won the M70 20km Road Walk in 2 hrs 05 mins 00.8 secs. Mike Vassiliou continued the run of successes when he came through the heats and semi-finals of the 400m on Monday before finishing a fine 2nd in the M45 Final on Tuesday with a personal best of 53.31s . On Thursday Pole Vaulter Mark Johnson took the Gold Medal in the M45 Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.40m.
